Experienced. Community Spirit. Real Solutions.

Over the past seven years, it's been the honour of my life to serve the citizens of Airdrie as Mayor. As I promote the City, I emphasize that Airdrie is this hidden gem and one of the most amazing places in Canada to live, work and play. It's a city that cares for its citizens, a great place to establish a business - and is a truly connected community.

My Commitment

Over the past seven years, it's been the honour of my life to serve the citizens of Airdrie as Mayor. As I promote the City, I emphasize that Airdrie is this hidden gem and one of the most amazing places in Canada to live, work and play.

It's a city that cares for its citizens, a great place to establish a business and is a truly connected community.

Seven years ago, the citizens of this community voted for a change and placed their trust in me to be their Mayor. Citizens wanted to feel connected to their Mayor and have someone who would champion their interests. They wanted someone who was going to be effective in advancing the community's needs with all levels of government. And they wanted someone who was out in the community.

I've never forgotten that, and I'm humbled every day with the trust that the citizens of Airdrie have placed in me.

That's why I'm running once again and asking for your support on OCTOBER 16 so we can continue to move our city forward.

During the coming campaign, there will be a number of choices that people have to make. Here are some of the things that I believe are important to you and with your support, I want to continue advancing these initiatives over the next four years:

  • Healthcare

Helping advance the work of the Airdrie & Area Health Benefits Cooperative to have Airdrie become known as Canada's healthiest Community.

  • Economic Development

Partnering even more with our businesses and employers - so that the City helps them grow and thrive, especially in tough economic times.

  • Education

Lobbying and supporting our school divisions to ensure Airdrie receives new buildings/staff - especially a new high school. Continue work on building a reserve agreement with our school divisions.

  • Public Safety

Continuing to invest in more facilities and staff for our public safety personnel to ensure appropriate response times and equipment are available to our fire and police services, including a new fire hall in the NE quadrant.

  • Building

Improving the City's e-commerce and approval process to reduce the amount of time for homeowners and businesses to renovate and upgrade their homes and businesses.

  • Efficient Governance

Streamlining the City's policies and bylaws, where possible, to reduce costs and time to our businesses and homeowners.

  • Infrastructure

Prioritizing local infrastructure improvements, new facilities and a new library to meet our growing community's needs.

  • 3P Engagement

Examining public-private partnerships that could help fund a larger event centre, a 50-metre pool and 3000-5000 seat arena and convention facility.

  • Green Awareness

Looking at innovative solutions to reduce carbon footprint, reduce capital and operating costs by having designated City staff to work from home or other facilities, which helps maximize the investment our citizens and businesses make in Airdrie's services.

  • Community Involvement

Looking at Made-in-Airdrie ideas for beautifying community parks and public spaces.

  • Low Taxes

Proudly working to continue keeping our taxes as low as possible.

  • Provincial Collaboration

Collaboratively working with our neighbours to prioritize major, provincially-funded infrastructure projects.

  • Seniors

Advocate for an improved Over 50+ Club, which serves as an important community gathering place.

Lobby for Level 4 healthcare support to allow our seniors to remain in the community as they get older and require more advanced medical support.
